Tall Pines Resort Hayward
Tall Pines Resorts History in Hayward started out as a fishing resort on Nelson Lake Hayward Wisconsin in East Bay in the early 1960 era. At that time the first buildings on the site were cabins 1, 2 & 3. And what we call Cabin 6 which was the house for the owners at that time. The Resort was open from May Through September. As the Wagner Family, who built the resort needed storage for all their equipment in the winter when they closed up so they built a garage which was later turned into the Tavern. A game room was needed for the guests so the garage served as that in the summer when the equipment was being used.
Tall Pines Resort 1995 - 2022
There was a small 10 stool bar at the resort in 95 and it was open all year. The winters at that time were a challenge. The heat was wood and an added upright propane furnace. Ice was sometimes as thick on the inside windows as it was on the outside. Some days provided as little as $5 gross income. The business became more popular as the years went on. An addition was built on the Garage/Bar in 2005 and the building was doubled in size.

Tall Pine Resort Restaurant
Tall Pines Resort Restaurant was opened in 2006. With the building doubled in size and a kitchen added to the new enlarged bar area. The menu started with burgers and Chicago style Italian beef sandwiches. Fish Fry was added in 2008 on Fridays all homemade from the slaw to the tarter and still is today. Today not much has changed. From fish to Ribs, Burgers, Beefs, Chicken and more. Homemade Old Fashions to Manhattans all from scratch. We hope you visit us in 2021.
