Nelson Lake is a fishing action-oriented lake in northwest Sawyer County. Bluegill Crappie & Sunfish are plentiful to fill almost any day with fishing success. The Lake also hosts Walleye Bass Northern Bullhead and a stray Musky from time to time. Tall Pines Resort is located in east bay a secluded bay in the central section of the lake. Sawyer County has over 300 lakes ranging from 0 acres to 15,300 acres and includes Nelson Lake which is over 3000 acres, With an 800 acre island. From the north end of the lake to the dam is a little over 8 miles to give you an idea.

Fishing on Nelson Lake is excellent. There is an abundance of Bluegill and Crappie and also host some great Walleye and Bass fishing. You will find islands, bogs and plenty of structure both shallow and deep with a river channel running from the beginning to the dam.
